Fade, the newest agent of Valorant
For several weeks, the teasing of the new Agent has been in full swing. Until then his name, like his appearance were unknown. We now know that it is a female Agent named Fade.
In mid-March, John Goscicki, Character Producers, revealed important information about the next Valorant Agent: Agent number 20 would probably be an initiator. This information was finally confirmed, since the visual above does indeed mention the Initiator role.
In the 4.07 patch notes released this Tuesday, April 12, the game’s teams invited players to the training ground with the following sentence: “While we tracked down the bugs, the agents tracked down their own prey. Head to the training ground to find out more.”
As soon as the patch was deployed, some players rushed to the said field. They were able to discover a multitude of new elements intended to tease the new Agent.
As John Goscicki, one of the developers of Valorant, had more or less announced, this new character seems really related to the theme of fear. Indeed, everything has been done to stay in the oppressive and frightening atmosphere of the Become the Nighmare video, recently unveiled for the Reykjavik Masters.
UPDATED: Read the complete guide to the new Agent Fade
As you descend the stairs that lead to Brimstone’s office and enter the basement, a shrill sound is heard. Once in the office, your field of vision goes almost black for several seconds and chilling whispers are heard. Additionally, an unfriendly female voice sounds to tell you “You’re trapped” or “Contemplate the darkness.” Will the next Agent be a woman?
Because of the various elements left in game and in the Agent States article, a hypothesis appeared: Fade would be a tracker dedicated to collecting information. Moreover, according to the communications published in the office of Brimstone, in the training ground, she would have tracked down all the Agents and recovered information on each of them in order to blackmail them.
The hypothesis that Fade is a hunter has not been validated by Riot Games for the moment, however the reveal of the Agent is accompanied by a sentence which seems to go in this direction:
You really don’t want to stumble upon Fade in the Dark, but you need to know where this trail leads.

Fade’s skills are not yet known. However, several clues were revealed in the training ground. If it comes to bridles of its abilities, the new Agent could well alter the vision of the opponents by blackening it, but also leave purple / yellow marks at their feet.
Fade gameplay will be revealed to the community following the Reykjavik Masters Grand Final. Let’s meet on April 24 to discover this new character in pictures and through an interview with the developers of Valorant.
